About this item
This kit can also be used to install an EPAS rack in early S197 Mustangs that did not get the electric power assisted steering rack from the factory. The EPAS rack is a popular swap part for the earlier S197 Mustangs because it eliminates the need for a power steering pump when swapping in a later Coyote motor.

This is a wire harness for
the electric power assisted steering (EPAS) racks (not pumps) used in various
2011 and up Ford cars and trucks. This harness uses factory connectors sourced
from the factory suppliers. The wire is automotive-grade cross-linked polyethylene
insulated wire rated for under hood use. The smaller wires are type GXL and the
larger wire are type SGX. The harness comes with 6 feet of wire. All wire
connections are crimped. All crimps are verified to meet USCAR
standards for tensile strength. All our
products are assembled by hand in the United States. Watch out for other
companies selling harnesses made from cheap aftermarket connectors. These cheap
kits often don't use the correct seals or wire terminals.
The main power connector has
6 feet of 6-gauge, red and black SAE J1127 SGX wire. The OEM Ford harness we
based this harness on has 6-gauge wire on the positive side and 8-gauge wire on
the negative. See photos for a comparison of the OEM harness and our harness.
The smaller data connector
comes with 6 feet of color-coded 18-gauge wire. The three wires are light blue
with a dark blue stripe, green with a yellow stripe, and white with an orange
stripe. These match the OEM connector we based this harness on. See photos for
a comparison of the OEM harness and our harness. The two CAN BUS wires are
twisted together the same as the OEM harness.
This kit can be used to
replace damaged wiring in factory Ford vehicles. Please check out the example
picture of the OEM rack and the connectors on the rack to make sure this will
fit.
Custom harnesses (length,
wire color) can be made. Message me for prices and lead times. Custom harnesses
are not returnable.
This kit can also be used to
install an EPAS rack in early S197 Mustangs that did not get the electric power
assisted steering rack from the factory. The EPAS rack is a popular swap part
for the earlier S197 Mustangs because it eliminates the need for a power
steering pump when swapping in a later Coyote motor. With this kit you aren't
limited to the factory replacement loom. If you need a rack controller for use
in an earlier model, please see below. We are a vendor for the Modular
Motorsports Racing controller.
Please note that this is a
universal kit for the Ford electric power assisted steering rack using
factory-sized wiring. It is assumed that the purchaser and installer are
familiar with automotive wiring and will follow standard industry practices.

rack CAN simulator to activate your rack in a custom installation, please see
